If just one woman is saved by this post...

The thing about crazy hair is that it sneaks up on you.

Seriously, it is wicked stealth. One day you're just cruising along, knowing full well that a cut and colour is way overdue, but you're busy and you figure you'll get to it one of these days, and then BAM!

You look in the mirror.

And there it is: crazy hair.

Check out the rest by clicking over to my Shooting For Hip column at Mommyblogstoronto - I promise there's an after photo over there!

As a curly-haired person, I can really relate to this! I feel like I go around with a barometer on my head. Only with ideal humidity does my hair behave itself.

So THAT's what it's called, that stuff on the top of my head!

Have a good one,

I think my daughter was 2 before I gave my hair some 'quality time'. Then I got pregnant with No.2 and I neglected it again. Only when he was around 3 did I start taking an interest in my appearance again. Scary hair wasn't all of it - I had a scary face and scary body too!

Your hair looks great in the after shot and you're still cute in in the before shot, just a little crazy hair. I've recently gotten a short cut that I love because it means having to do almost nothing to it in the morning, but I've noticed that I can barely go three weeks without having to get it cut/colored or I get crazy hair.

your crazy hair is better than my normal hair...

Sadly, I think my normal hair is a curly version of your 'crazy' hair... -sigh-

OMG...I am soooo guilty of crazy hair!! And you're so right, it just creeps up on you! Weird.

Unfortunately I have no plans to do anything about it anytime soon.

My sister's hair got like that and then she decided to donate it to Locks for Love. Made her look charitable instead of lazy!

Been there. Done that. LOL... yes, I understand crazy hair. :)

Love your new cute. You look smashing!

I hate it when I wake up and all of a sudden my hair is completely awful - even though it still looked okay 2 days previous. Such betrayal!

I think you look beautiful, either way. I like to say crazy hair though, it does sound better than a bad hair day.

You look great before! And after is WOW! My hairdresser just went on maternity leave and I'm already freaking out a little.

Great column! During pregnancy and during the postpartum period, I went almost 2 years without a cut. It was super crazy hair. Now, I make sure to make an appointment before I leave the salon. My next one happens to be tomorrow, thank goodness!

This is why I have a ridiculously large collection of hair ties, bandannas and clips!

I hear ya! When mine gets to the stage you describes, it's straight up in buns and ponytails or hats for me. I'm in that stage right now, actually.

I think I have been about 9 months. Last week I had finally had enough of "crazy hair". 5 inches were wacked.( and split ends with split ends) I feel so much better. Why do we moms do that? We don't send our kids out in the world unkempt and disheveled. Your new "do" looks fabulous!

I find you sexy and charming.

Good for you for still cutting and coloring! I absolutely refuse to let myself go unlike some mommies out there. I'm determined to look hot!

Oh, love the post. Hilarious. It was costing way way way too much so I started to dye it at home {shhhhh.} WILL NOT go grey.

I am currently a victim of the crazy hair days. I have to get my hair fixed every five weeks in order to maintain this hair style that I have chosen - and I do love my hairstyle. However, my busy schedule does not always allow for a hair cut every five weeks (neither does my pocketbook)

Anyway - it's going on three months now....I think it's time to make that appointment.

PS. You look good in both the before AND after. :)
